Flagship Romance drops anchor Dec. 21

Jack Rabbits and X102.9 continues their 12 Days of Christmas concert series with a quintuple bill of local acts, including Five Out Four, kLoB, HILLvalley, and some dude from Charleston thrown in just to mix things up, December 21, 7–11 p.m. at the San Marco club. Tickets are $8 in advance.
As for me, I’m most looking forward to seeing Flagship Romance. Formed by Son of a Bad Man lead singer Shawn Fisher and jazz/pop chanteuse Jordyn Jackson, the pair are like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups for your ears: two great voices that sound great together (and if that doesn’t sound like a quote for the old press kit, I don’t know what does). To put it in less caloric terms, Jackson is a more beautiful, and Fisher a less scruffy, American version of Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová—but equally as talented and captivating.
Check them out for yourselves in their video “Cocktail Napkin,” which, unfortunately, I don’t believe will be winning any MTV Music Video Awards.
And read more about Jordyn Jackson in the April issue of Jacksonville Magazine.
