Want to be a star?

The Performers Academy (TPA) is hosting an open casting call today from 2-5 PM for models, singers and dancers ages 4-24 for an upcoming fashion show for Blessings in a Backpack (I call age discrimination! I happen to know some very cool 45-year-olds who use backpacks!). Casting director Gregory James Blount, whose “discoveries” have appeared in The Muppets, Hannah Montana and Pineapple Express (Note to Kathryn: Do you think he could introduce me to Danny F*%#ing McBride?) will be assessing the talent.

Bring a headshot, comp card or photo with resume if you have one. (If not, ask yourself why you don’t have one yet?). A reception with Blount will follow after the casting session.

Then, tomorrow, TPA presents two workshops with casting director Jason LaPadura, who’s cast for High School Musical (bet he has some great Justin Bieber stories, girls!), Heroes, Camp Rock, Touch and one of my favorite movies ever Prelude to a Kiss. “The Art of the Audition and Cold Reading Technique” runs 9:30 AM-12:30 PM and “Acting for Film and Television on Camera” is from 2-5 PM. Seminars are $195 each with discounts for both and will be held at Lovett Arts Center at The Bolles Middle School. Register on line at jasonlapadura.com.

Break a leg, kids.
