Jaguaring: It’s not as bad as the Macarena

By | June 28, 2012

You may recall several weeks ago when the Jacksonville Jaguars and City of Jacksonville (more specifically, Downtown Vision and a nice young man whose name I shan’t reveal) were vilified in the press for introducing the world to “Jaguaring.”

The two-minute instructional video was featured on the home pages of NFL.com, NBC Sports and most prominently on Bleacher Report where writer Gabe Zaldivar referred to it as “the worst thing in the NFL—even more horrible than the actual Jaguars team.” Ouch.

Now before I go putting my claws out (which, coincidentally, is step one of Jaguaring) and lashing out at Zaldivar, I admit that I, too, was a hater.

After reading the story behind the video—that it was created by DVI interns as  a “fun and light-hearted” way to support the team—and realizing that I would have even participated if I had only been asked, however, I chose not to be a hater. Instead, I have taken up the cause and am making it my personal mission to make Jaguaring the biggest thing since Tebowing and planking. And what better way to show my support than Jaguaring with Tom Green who invented planking!?!?
